Canadian Pacific Railway
The railway was built in 1896 by John Stewart. They used picks, shovels, wheelbarrows, and slush scrapers. It was built entirely by hand labour. The first train was fired by wood. The train only came to Plaster Rock when they wanted a load of plaster. John Stewart was president of the railroad.
